The need for psychological insights or in other words the need to understand human behavior in the corporate world is immense, owing to the necessity of skills in effective communication, leading and managing people, selecting correct people for work and motivating employees to achieve organizational goals.
This program equally concentrates on both areas, business and psychology with the aim of producing a graduate who would apply skills and knowledge in psychology to achieve success in business.
Core modules covers the essentials in business and psychology providing the opportunity to the students to either continue with the same combination for the final year or to switch the fields entirely in the business or psychology.

The program- Diploma in Higher Education in Psychology (DHEP) is offered by Colombo Institute of Research and Psychology (CIRP) and is recognized by our partner universities. The program spans for 6 semesters and includes a psychology placement module to enhance students applied psychology knowledge. Moreover, the modules are included into the curriculum to enhance the quality and standards of the students who wish to transfer to BSc (Hons) program as a continuation of further academic studies, with one of our partner institutions overseas.

Traditional Entry Criteria
Minimum 2 passes at GCE/ Edexcel/ CIE A/L
+ Passed 5 subjects at O/L including Maths & English
Alternative Entry Criteria
Passed CIRP International Foundation
Or Passed a Foundation program from a recognized institute
Or Recognition of Prior learning that is acceptable to academic board
A very good command of English Language in reading, writing and speaking is required to successfully complete this program.
Students whose medium of primary and secondary education is not English, should either obtain an IELTS Score of 6.00 or any other proof of proficiency of English Language acceptable to the academic board
All candidates are selected through an interview
How often would I have to attend classes?
Students in the weekday cohort have classes usually on 3 days of the week and about 3 -4 hours of lectures a day. Classes are conducted between 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
Weekend students have classes on Sundays, usually for about 6 hours from 8.30 a.m.
How is teaching done for this program?
Each module consists of around 15 sessions of direct teaching that covers the learning objectives and small group discussions and tutorials to support students.
How are the students assessed?
Students are assessed through a combination of a module based written examinations and coursework at the end of each semester.
How many modules are delivered in a semester?
Usually each semester is allocated 3 modules.
What learning materials and resources do I have access to?
All your lecture slides could be downloaded from the Student portal and a range of e books, journals, articles and research papers are available through CIRP Online resources. You could also refer or borrow books from CIRP library, which is open from 8.00 a.m. – 8.00 p.m. on all 7 days.
